Where the Buffalo Roam....

PLUS

Only in Nebraska do you meet people who have buffalo on their land and want to share their buffalo meat. A friend of mine here in Nebraska is from Hershey, Nebraska and her family has buffalo. I'm learning all sorts of things about buffalo. (Apparently if one is sick you have to take them all to the vet together - they will not be separated from the herd.) Anyways...she personally has a hard time with different types of meat so she really wanted to share the buffalo meat with me.. :) Free what? So we tried it. I wish i hadn't told James what was for dinner. I think he would have enjoyed it more... But it really wasn't too bad! And she gave us plenty for future dinners. You are all invited for buffalo burgers tonight!! Bon Apetit!

story: there was a restaurant in edmonton that served buffalo and my mom's friend ordered it once. then for dessert they had the "death by chocolate" which had 7 layers of cake, mouse, torte, cookie, etc, etc. since it was so tall, and goopy, it fell over on the plate when it put on the table. my mom's friend quippe, "look what my buffalo left behind!"

but seriously ... way to be brave and live like a local!! i would eat buffalo if it meant i was visiting with you!!

Nice! i think Sky would take you up on that. He is such a hunter and loves trying new things--especially wild game. Fun stuff. Good talking to you earlier today!

I have had buffalo but in a hamburger fashion. Your experience is all together different! Thanks for the phone call last night. Sorry I missed it. I do know Susan Gedris. She is totally welcome to come with for any activity. I will give you a call soon.

Take care:-)

A buffalo burger sounds pretty good....save some for me. So how exactly do you transport a herd of buffalo to the vet. Don't you think he should just come to your house?
